This
page is dedicated to the Memory of my Father, Walter Umland
Sr.(9/11/1941-3/11/2001)
His dedication in giving back to a hobby that gave him so
much enjoyment was unmatchable, He took a few people at a
local flying field and made a well respected club on the
upper east coast and with over 75 ACTIVE PARTICIPATING
members the local people could bring there families out for
a fun day at the neighborhood flying field, This club was
called The N.Y. CRAZY 8's M.A.C.
The N.Y. CRAZY 8's M.A.C. put on annual club shows and was
also a very competitive club which won the high point award
several years in a row while he was the club President.
He did not only teach me how to build beautiful model planes
& boats and always remember safety but to be honest, have
respect for others, to have a passion for and take pride in
whatever I do, build friendships with people of all ages and
walks of life, he also showed me how to be a dedicated
husband to my wife and to be a father to my children and
most of all he taught me how to be a True friend.
Meet the Man

This last photo shows him flying a 1/2A. He did
fly on occasion though not very often because he was a behind the scenes
kind of guy who was always trying to make it better for the regular fliers. |

For a man who truly showed us it was always better to give
and to have a heart towards all people, I say, "Thanks DAD, you are LOVED
and MISSED very much."
I know that ALL
that knew him personally were as Blessed to know him as I was, and you can
be at peace knowing he received Christ as LORD. |
